Our local Farmers’ Market….
It’s April and we are and lucky enough to live in a City that has an amazing Farmers’ Market that actually dates back to 1855 and is open year round.
The market connects farmers, producers, sellers and customers in a community based environment where folks can always find fresh locally grown produce, seasonal food and specialty items. It’s bustling and we usually visit starting in April and don’t stop until January of the next year.
We have received so many questions about our locally sourced HONEY and other items that appear on the site from time to time that we thought we would highlight some of our favorites most of which come from our local market…
First up MAVERICK chocolate…..
We hit this place nearly every time we go. We have tried every bar they make! You can order online and they have a nice variety to choose from. Their most popular bar is the Prohibition Milk Chocolate.
Next up is BLUE OVEN BAKERY….
So many choices it’s always tough to pick. It’s worth mentioning their wheat is locally grown and stone milled in their mill house and used to make bread in their wood fired ovens. As you can see in the picture above we often pick up more than just a single loaf.
What goes better with BREAD than HONEY?!
BEE HAVEN is the ONLY honey we use and when we know we can’t personally fit one more jar in our cupboard we buy for other people and hand it out to family and friends.
We gave HONEY as gifts last year at the Holidays and our daughters are OBSESSED with this amazing bees wrap. Plastic wrap be gone they will use nothing else. Order yourself some TODAY!
We will try to share more of our local favorites as Summer arrives. We haven’t even touched on our favorite growers, their micro greens and our favorite local cheese purveyors.
