What’s in your kitchen?
First off many many iron pans…
Way too many kinds of flour…
A frightening amount of cheese and enough dry rubs and marinades to last until 2030.
Who takes the photo’s on your site?
That would be “Mrs. Pan”. I can’t stop cooking and she can’t stop taking pictures so here we are.
What kind of camera do you use?
We have a Canon EOS 6D and a Canon DSLR T7i.
Where do you get your recipes from?
Some of my recipes are family recipes that have been handed down from my mother and grandmother and they make the usual dinner rotation. I have also lived abroad and collected or recreated the many recipes I came across during my travels! Some are just the latest viral internet craze.
How long have you been cooking and are you formally trained?
Nope I am not formally trained but I grew up in a large family and have been cooking ever since I was tall enough to drag a chair over to the stove stand on it and make pancakes!
I have always been passionate about cooking whether in the kitchen or out on the grill. Hopefully you will find tasty meals and desserts that are a bit health conscious and sometimes indulgent too. We strive for simple recipes with simple ingredients but we know at times we will definitely miss that mark!
The site is inspired by 3 generations of family members who share recipes, techniques and “what we made for dinner” ideas together nearly everyday and as a result you will see a variety of recipes including vegetarian. We also hope to inspire you to spend more time at the table with family and friends and less time at the drive thru window!
Cooking is a family affair and around here it’s all hands on deck with the occasional egg wash for the floor. Feel free to peek around at our FAMILY COOKBOOK.
Do you eat everything you cook?
I have eaten EVERY single food item you have seen on the site but not by myself!
We also have a very large extended family that lives within 5 miles of us. We deliver and we hand out quite a bit of the food we make. I am especially grateful that they all cheerfully put up with my cooking addiction and act as our guinea pigs.
PIE or CAKE?
Sooo glad you asked. Pie!!! Every. Single. Time. Now, sadly, I have several family members and friends who are on the cake side of things so you should see plenty of both!
